I’m Brian, Southport born and based, and a lifelong dog owner. I look after Southport’s dogs and cats in their own homes when their owners can’t be there. It’s just me, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

How I work

Why disturb your pet’s normal routine by moving them out to boarding kennels or into a strange house they’re not used to? I don’t board or kennel dogs, and I never will.
Everything I do happens at your home or from your front door: overnight stays, pop-in visits, one-to-one walks and Pets to Vets. Your dog keeps their own bed, their own garden and the walks they know. Your cat keeps their favourite windowsill.
Before I take anyone on, I come round for a free meet & greet. Up to an hour at your home to meet your pets and go through the things that matter: where the keys are, feeding times, your vet, the usual walks, and any quirks. Then I stick to that routine like it’s my own.
While you’re away I keep in touch with photos and updates, because I know what it’s like to wonder. And your home is occupied and looked after, which is a bonus people don’t always think of until they’ve had it.
I know I’m not the cheapest service around, but if you want first-class care for your dog then I am your man. The only people who could possibly look after your pet better are yourselves.
Why I started
Because good, honest help is hard to find
I started The Grange in October 2025 as a semi-retirement business, partly to keep myself fit and feeling young.
Mostly, though, it was this: so many people I have spoken to over the years struggle to find the right kind of care for what their dog deserves. It is so difficult to find someone who is honest, reliable and totally trustworthy. I decided to be that person.
What you get is one named person who turns up when they say they will, treats your home with respect, and looks after your pets the way you would.
If Carlsberg did best jobs in the world… I think I have finally found my vocation in life.
